Cannabis Retail Store Managers required for 3 New Ontario Stores opening in Angus, Wasaga Beach and Meaford to oversee retail operations, train and motivate sales teams to maintain the highest standards with a strong customer focus. The Store Manager will report to the Owner and create business strategies, monitor budget expenses, pricing, cost controls, POS audits, procedural reviews, inventory management and be responsible for industry policy change implementation, LP relationships, product knowledge and management proficiency.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and oversee the planning, organizing and delegating to management and staff;
  • Set monthly/annual retail store revenue goals, KPI targets and incentives;
  • View sales reports, identify sales trends and manage inventory requirements;
  • Manages Loss Prevention processes related to cash management and Sale Floor processes to minimize risk;
  • Arrange ongoing “product knowledge” training sessions for all management and staff to be cannabis product ambassadors that are able to assist customer’s needs and inquiries;
  • Provide ongoing training for store team on cannabis and accessories selling strategies;
  • Maintain current knowledge of cannabis retail market to advise on operational and pricing strategies;
  • Critically assess staffing hours to ensure optimal balance between staff working hours, revenue and store traffic to minimize payroll;
  • Lead and motivate employees to attain personal sales goals;
  • Provide complaint resolution to ensure satisfaction and retention of customers;
  • Utilize customer and team member feedback to readily implement changes for improvement;
  • Establish and maintain a positive customer-focused best-practice sales experience. 

    Operational Responsibilities:

  • Identify, recruit, hire, onboard, schedule and coach staff;
  • Maintain and ensure operations of the store within the AGCO and OCS Retail Regulations including training of all team members on relevant compliant work procedures and policies;
  • Implement and oversee security, reporting, cash management procedures and any other activities related to opening and closing the store;
  • Manage inventory, purchase orders, back orders and receiving processes;
  • Ensure expired/damaged/returned products are logged/disposed according to Cannabis Retail Regulations;
  • Ensure preparation and successful execution of marketing activities, including social media;
  • Be accountable for maintaining a clean, sustainable and organized work environment;
  • Assist with floor coverage, processing of client purchases, as well as opening and closing store;
  • Lead frequent management and staff meetings to ensure consistent training highlighting new products and sharing key information on policy/process/regulation changes, coaching, and personnel development to maintain an aligned vision among all staff;
  • Ensure new hires and existing staff are trained on most up-to-date store policies, procedures, and operational guidelines;
  • Empower employees to ensure customer satisfaction and retention;
  • Inspire and encourage employees to reach a high level of employee engagement and morale;
  • Complete management and staff performance appraisals and comply with employment legislation.
  • Experience and Qualifications:
  • Minimum 1 year experience in Cannabis Retail Management and/or 3 years in Retail Store Management
  • College Diploma or University Degree in Business Administration, Marketing or equivalent
  • AGCO Cannabis Retail Manager License or ability to qualify
  • CanSell Standard Certificate or Expert
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, organization and execution skills
  • Ability to use a POS system and maintain inventory management functions
  • Computer skills and knowledge of retail software
  • Marketing experience including social media is an asset

Compensation: $50,000K-$60,000K or negotiable based on experience.
