An Internationally acclaimed Celebrity Chef who is known for creating / opening several unique and trendy restaurants worldwide, seeks a dynamic Executive Chef for their Restaurant located in a luxury multi-unit facility that includes hotels and other inter-related hospitality operations in Singapore. This restaurant serves a fusion of modern International and SE Asian cuisine, with emphasis on Japanese (Izakaya style), seafood, grilled meats, etc. Dishes are prepared using farm fresh produce and paired with wines. The ideal candidate will be someone who has experience managing Celebrity Chef/Michelin Star restaurants in SE Asia, USA or Australia are preferred. Our client is not looking for an authentic Japanese Chef, but someone who can create a totally different style of cuisine that blends well with modern Japanese and International cuisine, using new and fresh ingredients. The ideal candidate will be someone who has experience working in NOBU / ZUMA and TETSUYA style restaurants particularly in USA, Singapore, Hong Kong and Japan. The Restaurant Executive Chef must be a dynamic and enthusiastic culinary professional, with a strong background in managing and working with a well known Chef(s), and have an entrepreneurial approach. He/she must also have exceptional administrative skills to handle total leadership of the restaurant. This Chef will have to be the "Ambassador" in the absence of the Celebrity Chef. So, he/she will have to be great at engaging with the guests and front of the house team. As well, you must also have proven experience to run the business in the back of the house in regards to food cost, labor cost and menu engineering. Other "mandatory" requirements are: - Must come from a "Celebrity Chef" Restaurant background like Nobu, Zuma, Momofuku, Tetsuya or similar top level Michelin Star Chefs. - Prefer someone from USA, SE Asia or Japan. - Good skills in food and labor costs. - Must integrate well with the staff. - A very strong leader and trainer, with high goals and standards. - Asian restaurant experience will be a plus. - Has to be able to manage the business and the costs and be exceptional with leading the team and creating new concepts. - Excellent communication skills with staff and guests.
