Chef de Cuisine needed for Upscale Restaurant in Montreal We currently have a fantastic opportunity in Montreal to become the Chef de Cuisine of a newly Opening, Italian Restaurant. In this role you will report directly to and work with closely with the Ownership Group and the Corporate Executive Chef. As the Opening Chef de Cuisine you will be responsible for implementing and achieving the culinary and financial objectives for the operation. You will be responsible for developing the concept, creating the menus and building the new team. You will also be responsible for coordinating, supervising and directing Kitchen operations, while maintaining the highest levels of service and food standards. You will personally spearhead this new venture and will help to establish a strong reputation for the restaurant, its food, and service. You will be involved in all aspects of the operations and will be required to market ideas, promote the business, meet productivity targets, grow revenue and manage costs and budgets. Main Responsibilities: . Develop the culinary vision along with the ownership group . Develop the menus, create the recipes and source the ingredients . Establish the highest level of quality and service standards . Grow the reputation of the restaurant and culinary vision . Responsible for the recruitment, on-boarding, management and training of all kitchen staff . Build on a strong company culture and team bond . Maintain budgets and cost throughout all of the F&B operations . Provide strong leadership, communication skills, customer orientation, initiative and teamwork . Be aware of the required food cost percentages as per budget and monitor the department to operate within these guidelines at all times. Control wastage and over-production of food . Ensure all staff within your team are well aware of their responsibilities and the expectations of them. Provide constant supervision, support and motivation in all aspects of their work. . Maintain a positive attitude, and take ownership and responsibility of all aspects of your team's work Experience Requirements: . Canadian Residency or Citizenship . French and English fluency required . Previous experience in a fine-dining Italian Restaurant . Previous Restaurant Opening experience a big asset . Minimum of 3 years in a high-end, upscale restaurant in a Head Chef position . Proven track record in leading the operations of a busy stand-alone restaurant and creating a culinary destination . Must be Innovative in creating new dishes. Knowledge of modern cuisine will be an asset . Ability to collaborate and amend direction as needed Salary: .
